  • 1 pound large shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1 teaspoon lemon zest
  • ¼ cup fresh parsley, chopped
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • red pepper flakes, optional for spice

Instructions
 

  • If your shrimp are frozen, thaw them under cold water and pat them dry with paper towels.
  • In a large skillet, heat the olive oil and 2 tablespoons of butter over medium-high heat until melted.
  • Add the shrimp to the pan in a single layer. Season with salt and pepper. Cook for 2-3 minutes or until they turn pink and opaque. Flip the shrimp halfway through cooking for even results.
  • Lower the heat to medium and add the minced garlic. Sauté for about 1 minute, being careful not to burn the garlic.
  • Stir in the remaining butter, lemon juice, and lemon zest. Mix until the butter is melted and the shrimp are well-coated.
  • Remove the pan from heat and sprinkle the chopped parsley over the shrimp. If desired, add red pepper flakes for some heat.
  • Transfer the shrimp to a serving platter or individual plates to enjoy right away!
