Ingredients
  

  • 8 slices Ciabatta bread
  • 3-4 pieces ripe tomatoes e.g. San Marzano or vine tomatoes
  • 2 cloves garlic
  • 3-4 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil
  • 12 leaves fresh basil
  • Salt
  • Black pepper freshly ground

Instructions
 

  • Decide whether to toast the Ciabatta slices in a non-stick pan without oil or in the oven on the grill rack preheated to 200°C.
  • Toast the bread slices for about 8 minutes until golden brown on both sides.
  • Peel the garlic and wash the tomatoes. Remove the stems, halve them lengthwise, and remove as many seeds as possible. Cut the tomatoes into roughly 1 cm cubes.
  • Rub the hot bread slices evenly on the top with the garlic and drizzle with olive oil.
  • Distribute the tomato cubes on the bread slices, add a few drops of olive oil on top, season with salt and pepper, and shred the basil leaves on top.
  • Serve the bruschetta warm or cold.
