Ingredients

For the Salmon

  • 4 fillets Salmon Fillets Opt for skin-on fillets to enhance crispiness in your dish.

For the Rice Base

  • 2 cups Cooked Rice Provides a warm, fluffy base; switch to cauliflower rice for a healthy, low-carb alternative.

For the Garlic Butter Sauce

  • 4 tablespoon Butter Adds a rich flavor; feel free to substitute with ghee or olive oil for a different taste.
  • 4 cloves Garlic (minced) Fresh minced garlic elevates the sauce’s aroma and depth of flavor.
  • 3 tablespoon Soy Sauce Delivers umami and depth; use tamari for a gluten-free option or teriyaki for sweetness.
  • 1 tablespoon Honey Sweetens the sauce beautifully; try maple syrup or agave if you prefer a plant-based sweetener.
  • 1 tablespoon Lemon Juice Brightens flavors; lime juice can be a great replacement if that's what you have on hand.

Optional Garnishes

  • Vegetables Incorporate colorful sautéed veggies like broccoli or snap peas for added nutrition and flavor!

Instructions

How to Make

  • Begin by cooking the rice according to package instructions. Once cooked, fluff it with a fork and set aside to keep warm.
  • Season the salmon fillets generously with salt. In a heated pan over medium-high heat, place the salmon skin-side down and cook for about 5-7 minutes until crispy. Let it cook undisturbed for the best crust, then carefully flip and cook for an additional 2-3 minutes.
  • In the same pan, reduce the heat to medium and add the butter. As it melts, add the minced garlic, soy sauce, honey, and lemon juice. Stir and cook for 1-2 minutes until fragrant and bubbly.
  • Once the salmon is cooked, remove it from the pan and drizzle the garlic butter sauce generously over each fillet to infuse them with rich flavor.
  • Create your rice bowl by placing a generous scoop of rice at the bottom. Top with the crispy salmon fillets and pour any remaining garlic butter sauce over the top. Feel free to add some sautéed vegetables for extra color and nutrition!

Notes

Optional: Garnish with sliced green onions or sesame seeds for an extra touch of flavor. For freshness, store cooked salmon and rice separately in airtight containers in the fridge.
