Equipment

  • Slow Cooker
  • large pot

Ingredients

Sauce and Meatballs

  • 12 ounces Heinz chili sauce 1 ¼ cups
  • 14 ounces jellied cranberry sauce
  • 1 tablespoon packed light or dark brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 28 ounces frozen cooked bite-size Italian meatballs about ½ ounce each; do not thaw

Garnish

  • finely chopped fresh parsley leaves for garnish, optional

Instructions

Cooking Instructions

  • Whisk Heinz chili sauce, jellied cranberry sauce, brown sugar, and Worcestershire sauce together in a slow cooker until mostly smooth. Stir in frozen cooked meatballs.
  • Cover and cook until meatballs are heated through and sauce thickens slightly, 2 to 2 ½ hours on HIGH or 3 to 4 hours on LOW. For thicker sauce, cook uncovered on HIGH for the last 30 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  • Transfer meatballs and sauce to a serving dish, or turn on the warm setting and serve straight from the slow cooker. Garnish with parsley if desired.

Stovetop Instructions

  • For a faster version, cook everything uncovered in a pot over medium-low heat, stirring occasionally, until heated through and sauce thickens, about 25 minutes.

Notes

Leftovers can be refrigerated in an airtight container for up to 4 days.
